Our Class Levels are based on your experience and on the amount of physical challenge you want. By offering Levels, everyone can have a fun, safe and enjoyable yoga experience.
In all of our classes we emphasize learning correct alignment of the postures. We’ll also teach you deep breathing techniques and help you develop body awareness and mental clarity and calmness. All of our classes end with a deep relaxation and a short meditation period.
LEVEL 1 CLASSES: This is a basic class good for beginners and those wanting a moderate approach to yoga. Modifications are given if any student finds a specific posture too challenging. The focus is on becoming more flexible, stronger and confident, and on releasing chronic tension in both mind and body.
LEVEL 2 CLASSES: This is a more active, energetic class that assumes the student has some prior yoga experience and is in reasonably good physical condition. The class includes vinyasa (or “flow”) sequences, more challenging asanas and longer holding of them to deepen awareness.
PREGNANCY YOGA: Pregnant students are invited to join any of our LEVEL 1 CLASSES. Sydnie has a lot of experience working with pregnant women. She’ll give you personal coaching and support. All of our teachers are very knowledgeable. At South Windsor Yoga Studio you will get a safe, energizing prenatal practice. By joining our regular Level 1 classes, you will be able to come to yoga classes up to 4 times each week. Another benefit is that your husband or other support person can take the classes with you.
